Dental Implant Fees
( 1 item )
Fees of the oral implants
Fees for dental implants are often inflated. Many patients save more then 50% on their implant treatment when they become patients of Dr Michel P. Jazzar clinics located in the Republic of Lebanon.
This section is for patients who are not residents of Lebanon and would like to travel to Jounieh, to have their dental implant work performed by Michel P. Jazzar DDS one of the Lebanon's top dental implant Prosthodontists.
Patients from all over the world travel to place and/or restore their dental implants. This procedure works out best if the patient will spend several months in the area, but occasionally, we have patients who fly in for various aspects of their dental work and then return at later times for completion. If you would like to consider treatment by Dr. Jazzar, you might want to check out what we did for one of our and then read the guidelines below: Contact one of the two dental clinics and arrange to send your dental records for review prior to coming to the area. This will give Dr. Jazzar a chance to familiarize himself with your dental situation and to determine what might be done to help you and will be glad to assist you.
Patients receiving implants must be available for up to two weeks after implant placement so that Dr. Jazzar can check on the healing.
Patients receiving extensive grafting procedures may have to be monitored by another dentist if they leave the area during the healing phase of treatment.
There is a second stage to the implant surgery which is done approximately 5 to 6 weeks after the implants are placed. [Some kinds of implant need 3 weeks only - e.g. ITI SLActive].
Prosthetic reconstruction will usually take between two weeks to complete once the implants are osseointegrated. Time restrictions may prohibit this phase from being performed in Lebanon and might necessarily be carried out elsewhere. If you have any specific questions send an email to jazzar@dm.net.lb for a direct reply.
For more information, visit other sections on this web. What differentiates Dr. Jazzar's Prosthodontic practice from others?
Because Dr. Jazzar is one of the leaders in dental implantology, he is considered by some to be a "Real Specialist". While Dr. Jazzar has always restored dental implants, for the past 10 years, he has been placing dental implants for his own patients and for patients of many dentists right here in Lebanon. He has taught dentists from all over the world the techniques for placing and restoring dental implants. Dr Jazzar was invited for many conferences on Dental implants in Lebanon. He was invited by the scientific committee to be a lecturer at the next International Congress of Nice- France 7th June 2007 where he gave a presentation on a new case of full mouth fixed denture.

Implant’s cost?
Dental Implantology is a fairly new area of dentistry and the costs are still high. As time goes on and more and more dentists are involved in these procedures, the cost will come down significantly. There has, in my opinion, been a tendency for certain practitioners to overcharge for dental implant procedures. If you are interested in my commentary about excessive fees in this field of dentistry, send an email to Dr Michel P. Jazzar to jazzar@dm.net.lb
There are two major costs involved in dental implant treatment. The first is the implant itself and the second is the restoration (tooth or teeth) that is anchored by the implant. Fees for these services vary considerably. I have seen fees for a single implant that range from $650.00 to $6,000.00. I think that an average fee for the suitable placement of each is between $650.00 and $1650.00. The "bone level" implant will cost more up to 5000$US.
In my practice, the fee per implant is between US$650.00 and $2000.00 depending what kind of implant is used. There are, however, situations where I might charge more or less for a particular patient treatment due to the difficulties or complexities of the treatment situation.
Restorations on implants vary to a much greater degree and an individual can pay as much as several thousand dollars for a single restoration up to over $80,000.00 for a complete rehabilitation involving dental implants. Fortunately, there are implant restorations available for most people that are in the realistic range and allow many more people today to find a suitable solution to replacing missing teeth. You have to make sure that the dentist that you choose is familiar with all of the restorative options to suit your needs and that he can provide the treatment at a fee that you can live with.
Note: There is a special fee per implant for patients referred to Dr. Jazzar by other dentist just for implant placement. If your dentist is going to do the restorative work on your dental implants, the fee for each implant is $650.00. To qualify for this fee, you must have a valid referral and treatment plan from your dentist.

Overview
( 10 items )
Who does implant dentistry?
Each dental office is involved with oral surgery and implant dentistry. Implants involve two phases of treatment, placement of the implant(s) and placement of the crown(s) or restoration(s). Some dentists feel they can offer better solutions for you by using the different expertise of other team members, e.g. performing the surgery or the restoration. Other practitioners feel that performing both the surgery and the restoration within one office is optimal for many patients.
What exactly are dental implants and what can they do for me?
Implants are substitutes for teeth and they are today's best alternative to your natural teeth. They offer you a permanent or secure solution for replacing one or more teeth. They are made of biocompatible materials [Titanium] and function as anchors or support for traditional forms of dentistry, such as crowns, bridges or dentures. Many of our patients will tell you that implants have changed not only their smiles, their overall appearance but also even their lives!
There are numerous other reasons to choose dental implants:
Esthetically, they support teeth that look like real teeth. Functionally, dental implants feel and act like real teeth.
With implants, you can eat and chew again without pain or irritation. Foods that were forbidden are now back in the diet.
Implants eliminate the need for distasteful adhesives. There is no longer a need to use "glue" when your prosthesis is anchored to implants.
Implants can actually improve the taste of food. With less plastic covering the roof of your mouth, you can enjoy natural flavors and sensations again.
Lastly, implants can help maintain your bone structure and support your facial tissues. They can reduce or eliminate bone atrophy, which causes "shrinkage" or facial cosmetic changes.
Are implants successful?
Implants, as we know them today, have been in existence for at least twenty-five years. For the last ten years, however, success rates at many treatment centers are consistently over 95% with proper personal and professional care. Few forms of medical, orthopedic or dental treatment have such high success rates.
What is the procedure like?
There are actually two phases to implant dentistry:
Phase 1:
Using very accurate surgical techniques, an incision is made in the gum tissues and implants are placed into dimensionally controlled sites (depth and width) in the jawbone. The gum tissues are then closed and the healing phase begins. This may take anywhere from 3-6 weeks to ensure a strong base.[time depends of the Implant used. The Straumann ITI SLActive needs only 3 weeks and cost more]
Phase 2:
Creating and fixing the new tooth or teeth to the implant structure constitutes the second and final phase. Implants can replace a single tooth, several teeth or your dentures.
Are they expensive? [see other section on Implant Fees]
Initially, you might feel dental implants are expensive. However, they represent a more permanent and natural solution than dentures and partials. Thus, there is a greater initial investment. They should last for years, particularly if you have an "ideal" case. Independent surveys of implant patients show that they felt the investment was worth every penny and would do it again!
How much do they cost?
Each case is different. Cost is a function of your particular needs. After a complete examination, your doctor will more specifically determine your dental needs and the best treatment alternative(s) for you. At that point, you can specifically address the question of cost and be helped with financial arrangements.
Does it hurt?
Usually, discomfort is not a problem. In fact, many have said that having a tooth pulled was more painful! For the placement of an implant(s), your doctor will use one of many anesthetic regimens so there won't be any discomfort. When you leave the office, you will be given appropriate medications. We urge you to ask other patients how they felt after implant therapy. Your doctor(s) and their office teams are available at anytime to make sure that you are comfortable.
What benefits can I really expect?
Eat whatever you like! Implants improve your health with the ability to chew a wider variety of foods.
Smile with confidence. Discolored or missing teeth ruin your appearance. Implant supported restorations help increase your self-esteem. People will approach you more readily.
Express yourself clearly or simply be understood. Implants increase the retention and stability of your teeth.
Improve your external facial structure and decrease the likelihood of continued bone loss. Your jaw and teeth will smile together.
How long will it take?
Recent advances by implant manufacturers are reducing the time for initial implant procedures. Treatment for the simple cases could take anywhere from 4-8 months, based on where the implants are placed and the type of restoration you desire. Do not compromise because your implants and the new teeth that they support should last for years.
Will I be without teeth?
You will never be without teeth. Your doctor will make sure that in the interim period, you look and feel very natural.
Am I too old?
Implant patients can be in their early teens or be mature adults in their seventies and eighties. Good health and adequate bone are the most critical factors in evaluating implant candidates. My latest patient was 85 years old [in year 2006].
Is one implant system better than the others?
No. There are many FDA approved implant systems available to your doctor. In Jazzar Dental Clinics [Republic of Lebanon] the Straumann ITI Implant is used.
What will it feel like when it is done?
Once the entire procedure is complete and the final restorations placed, they will actually feel or function like your natural teeth!
How do I take care of my implants?
Normal routine home care and professional cleaning visits are required. It is important to know that every 3-4 months, you will need to have a routine cleaning and re-care treatment and evaluation. An individualized program will be designed for you to optimally care for your new teeth.
Are there alternatives?
Your doctor should describe all reasonable alternatives. Then you will make a decision together as to what is best for you.
When can I get started?
As soon as your doctor has all the necessary information and team members in place to give you excellent short term as well as life long care.
Can any licensed dentist(s) legally perform implant surgery or restoration?
Yes. However, education and experience are critical! Ask your dentist or dental specialist questions about his or her training in implant therapy and in-office implant experience. Additionally, we believe that a recommendation from your own dentist (if he or she is not involved in implant therapy) is an important criterion.
Is it safe to have dental implant surgery performed outside the hospital, in an office-based facility?
Most cases are. Safety refers to the nature of the procedure and the medical and\or anesthetic needs of the patient.
How do I know if a dentist is qualified to perform implant treatment?
We recommend you talk to treated patients of record and to referring dentists.

2-Introduction:
Your teeth are an important part of your personal appearance and lifestyle.
A beautiful smile enhances your overall presence, and healthy teeth allow you to eat and speak with confidence.
Healthy teeth are not something to be taken for granted.
Cavities, gum disease, and accidents are everyday occurrences that can lead to the loss of teeth. The loss of one tooth or several teeth can compromise your eating habits, speech, and appearance. In addition, when a tooth is lost, the bone that surrounds the tooth root can deteriorate affecting your appearance and bite.
Fortunately, for almost 30 years, dental implants have offered a solution for not only replacing the missing “crown” of the tooth, but the dental root as well. Dental implants provide a stable foundation for a tooth replacement that looks, feels, and functions like your natural teeth. This treatment option is backed by several decades of scientific research and successful clinical use.
As a result, dental implants may be just the tooth replacement solution you are looking for.
3-What is a Dental Implant
A dental implant is a small screw made of titanium, which is a metal that the body easily accepts. The dental implant is inserted into the bone of the jaw, and over time the jawbone integrates with the implant surface, firmly anchoring it.
Under normal conditions, the healing process can take as little as 6 weeks. After this time, a crown, bridge, or denture is secured to the implant.
Ask your dentist how dental implants can work for your individual situation.
4- Benefits of dental implants:
Dental implants are the closest possible replacement to natural teeth.
They make replacement teeth stable for eating and smiling with confidence.
Dental implants remove the need to cut down healthy teeth for a bridge.
They can eliminate the pain caused by ill-fitting dentures.
Dental implants help preserve the bone in the jaws.
In some cases, they help maintain the shape of the face.
5-Advantages of Straumann © implants: (different length and width)
High Swiss-quality standards for products you can trust.
Extensive research and 30 years of documented clinical experience.
Excellent success rate - more than 95% over a ten-year period.
Most widely used dental implant system in the world with over 3 million implants placed.
Unique patented implant surface for reduced healing time.
Global presence and worldwide support and education for doctors and their patients.Implants SLActive are now used for the benefits of our patients.
6-Treatment of choice:
Dental implants provide a stable foundation for replacement teeth that are closest to your natural teeth.
Dental implants are a reliable solution...
...if disease leads to tooth loss.
At any age, periodontitis, caries, or other diseases can cause tooth loss. Dental implants are then the ideal solution for your missing teeth.
...if an accident leaves you with missing teeth.
Whether in sports activities or daily life - a small accident can cause tooth loss. In this case, too, dental implants restore lost function and appearance.
...if teeth are congenitally missing.
For teeth that never grew at all, dental implants provide a solid foundation for replacement teeth.
7- Replacement solutions:
Implants as a replacement for one tooth.
Implants as a replacement of several teeth.
Implants as a replacement of all teeth with a non-removable bridge.
Implant solutions for denture wearers.
Implants can also be used to support full dentures.
8-Implant insertion:
Because traditional methods of tooth replacement, such as crowns, bridges, partials, and dentures, have disadvantages in terms of appearance and function, dental implants are considered by many dentists as the preferred method of tooth replacement.
Your dentist will be happy to review with you the specific procedure that would be best suited for your individual situation.
Example: Replacement of one tooth.
1. Planning
The first step in the treatment sequence is careful planning, which begins with a thorough examination of your individual oral situation. Through X-rays and models of your mouth, your doctor will determine the most suitable treatment plan for your situation.
2. Implant placement
The next step is placing the implant in the jaw. This procedure is usually performed in the dental office under local anesthesia. Once the implant is placed, it is left to heal. Healthy bone can form a strong bond with the implant in just 6 weeks
3. Replacement teeth
When the healing period is complete, the implant provides a solid foundation for attaching your replacement tooth.
9-Restauration with implants: http://www.straumann.com/com_index/pi_index/pi_ch_patient...
With implant treatment, the dental implant replaces the lost tooth root and provides a stable foundation for the replacement tooth, thus eliminating the need to grind down healthy neighboring teeth.
